 May be dried or fermented for use as protein supplements (Ref. 9987). Proximate analysis of somatic tissue of females at different stages of maturity yielded the following percentages of water, protein and lipid, respectively: 76.9, 12.0 and 3.7 for immatures; 77.5, 11.6 and 3.8 for the mature/ripe; 77.4, 11.9 and 3.8 for the partially spent ( Ref. 8591).
